“O Allah, grant us the fear of You that will prevent us from committing sins, the obedience that will bring us to Your paradise, and the certainty that will make the calamities of this world easy for us. O Allah, let us enjoy our hearing, our sight, and our strength as long as we live, and make it a heritage for our descendants. Grant us victory over those who oppress us and support us against our enemies. Do not make our misfortune in our religion, and do not make this world our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge. And do not place in authority over us those who will not show us mercy.”

Transliteration:

“Allahumma iqsim lana min khashyatika ma tahoolu bihi baynana wa bayna maasiyik, wa min ta’atika ma tuballighuna bihi jannatak, wa mina al yaqeeni ma tuhawwinu bihi ‘alayna masaiba ad-dunya, Allahumma matti’na bi-asma’ina wa absarina wa quwwatina ma ahyaytana, waj’alhu al-waritha minna, waj’al tharana ‘ala man zalamana, wansurna ‘ala man ‘adanana, wa la taj’al musibatana fi deenina, wa la taj’alid-dunya akbara hammina wa la mablagha ‘ilmina, wa la tusalliṭ ‘alayna man la yarhamuna.”
