Alam tara kaifa fa‘ala rabbuka bi-aṣḥābil-fīl?

(Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?)

Alam yaj‘al kaidahum fī taḍlīl?

(Did He not make their plan into misguidance?)

Wa-arsala ‘alaihim ṭairan abābīl,

(And He sent against them birds in flocks,)

Tarmīhim bi-ḥijāratin min sijjīl,

(Striking them with stones of hard clay,)

Fa-ja‘alahum ka‘aṣfim ma’kūl.

(And He made them like eaten straw.)
