warsh mushaf is a Quranic edition that presents the sacred text according to the narration of Warsh from Imam Nafi al-Madani. This is one of the most well-known and widely accepted of the ten authentic Quranic recitation (Qiraat), particularly across North and West Africa, including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritania.
Warsh, whose full name is Uthman ibn Saeed al-Misri, learned this recitation from Imām Nafi al-Madani, one of the leading figures of Quranic recitation in Madinah. The path of Al-Azraq, the most prominent transmission route for this narration, is named after Abd as samad ibn Abd ar-Rahman al-Azraq, who received the recitation directly from Warsh and is a key chain in the sanad (transmission chain) of this recitation.
This Warsh Mushaf, written in the Uthmanic script, presents the Quran according to this narration with full application of its tajwid rules, such as elongations (madud), hamz rules, imalah (vowel tilting), and taysir (facilitation). It is an ideal edition for reciters and students of tajwid and Qiraatt who wish to study and understand the narration of Warsh from Nafi. It also supports accurate recitation in the style followed throughout North African countries, where this narration is primarily adopted.
